FIRST SESSION LAST NITE, 2 NEW PLAYERS LOOKING TO JOIN THE TEAM. VERY PLEASED WITH THEIR PERFORMANCE LAST NITE. GOOD SKILL AND STRENGTH.
WE HAVE 12 PLAYERS AT PRESENT, IM LOOKING FOR TWO MORE.
Another season over,..the girls have done well this season, form dipped at end of season and goals were hard to find. overall another great season. the girls do battle but do lack just abit of strength, but what they lack in strength they more than make up with the great abundance of skill. thanks girls its a pleasure to be your manager.
sunday 11th april, tescos cup. unfortunately, we were short on players as two went on holiday. despite the fact we had a player short, the girls showed their true strength. the girls battled on for both matches, we lost to droitwich who had a full strength squad and plenty of subs. well done to droitwich. thanks to a great manager in mark solloway, both teams show great respect for each other whether they win or lose.
then in our second match against ferndale, the girls put in a great performance, the under 13 girls showed their skill and talent as they combined with the u14,s players to put together some great passes. their hard work was soon rewarded with a goal, exactly as they did against droitwich.
we had to wait until the second half to put together a string of good passes to get the equaliser. then we put strong pressure on ferndale to fight for a second which never came.
because of the draw, i was asked about finishing with the draw or penaltys. penaltys is a good team builder and droitwich had won the cup anyway. so because i chose penaltys, penaltys it was.
we swapped goalies and decided on who was taking. then ferndale complained and accused us of cheating, it went to the ref and he overided the decision. managers need to be aware of rules before they accuse or allow players to accuse others of cheating. we had only 10 players who were all on the pitch. we were not cheating. please keep up ferndale.
we went on to win the penaltys, but from me to the girls at ferndale, well done, you all battled and made it tough for droitwich and kidderminster lions. please hold your head high, i saw alot of talent from ferndale and droitwich. the girls game is making a big progression, unfortunately theres still a few people with chips on their shoulder. many thanks to big martin, the only one from ferndale to shake my hand after the match.
many thanks to laura from the f.a. for a well organised event and to the facilities, beth said it was really nice pitch to play on.
hope all the girls enjoyed the mcdonalds after the match. thanks to debbie for collecting the money from the tea and coffee and to karen for doing the raffle at home matches. thanks to mike for all your help with running the line and to to wayne for helping with setting up at home games.
most of all, many thanks to geoff- halas, steve- wordsley, mark- droitwich, darren- worcester and steve from netherton. youve all been great to get to know. may i wish you all the best for next season. thanks for making mine so enjoyable.
