What a great match! We came up against a well organised Newtown Juniors they played a positive game lots of passing a movement, with lots of physical presence.

We started the first quarter very well holding them off and standing up to there full on assault, we ended the first quarter 0-0

The second quarter we made a few changes and started well however the Newtown boys kept pushing and moved the ball well from the back catching us out a few times, it wasn’t long before we were two goals down, with it all to do.

We started the 3rd Quarter positively and started to move the ball up the flanks and hold the ball better in the middle as well as being a little more confidence in possession, this started to work before long we were on level terms two great goals scored by the on form Fergus.

The 4th quarter was a close run thing and from a free kick Newtown’s giant No. 4 scored with his head in the heavens. On the day I think the score as a fair result the Newtown boys we more consistent and kept a steady team throughout the hour.

It was great to see all the boys in action against a well-organised team and it has given us some good idea for our future games.

We have a tough season ahead with all teams coming to play well to beat us as the league Champions, we have a great team and if we play to full our potential there is no reason why we should not pick up some silverware.

See you all next week for our first game of the season.
